What's New?

Ok so it's been a while since I have posted, we have some news! WE ARE MOVING!!! The Lord so gratefully allowed us to find a townhouse for rent from a couple at church. The rent is what we were looking for, and a little less than our apartment since the rent payment would go up if we signed another year lease. We are so excited to move into a new place and although we will miss our apartment and the memories here, the townhouse is soooooo cute! :) It has a really nice kitchen and a little backyard for Roxy which is great! The bedrooms upstairs are perfect size and we are really eager to get there and decorate our new place! It really is such a blessing that we are getting this place!

Another thing that has been going on is that Bobby has been doing great at the academy. He had his first major test (there are 2 major ones) this past week. He spent all night long studying for 3 days and there was A LOT of information to learn. Well, the Lord blessed is diligence and answered so many prayers, he passed the test!!! Thanks so much for everyone who prayed hard for this test!!

Other than that we are just busy with working, but also looking forward to some things coming up. This weekend we are going on a retreat with our caregroup and they are sooooo much fun it will be so nice to spend a weekend away with friends! The weekend after that Johnny is coming to town!!! For those of you who don't know Johnny, he is Bobby's brother and we love him to death! We only get to see him a few times a year since he is stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego. He comes to town for a few days before he heads out again on deployment, this time on a ship, not to Iraq again thank the Lord! :) Anyway, if you haven't met him, you will have to when he comes to town, he is the best!

Well please pray for us in these next few busy weeks, we have a lot going on and we move April 14th! Keep praying for Bobby at the academy, he is getting into more of the "fun" stuff now which he loves, but keep praying that he will do well. thanks!

Oh, another fun thing. I (Alissa) went dark. My hair that is! Blonde no more, here it is for those who haven't seen it and were scared when I told them about it! :)

It's fun for now, Bobby likes it and that's all that matters! :)

An Ode to the Simmons

So the other night we went to dinner at the Simmons house. They are like my second family, after all, I did live with them for 4 and a half years up until Bobby and I got married!! I was able to be there when both Daisy and Rylie were born and brought home from the hospital, shared fashion secrets and talked about the hottest shoes with Eric, I cried probably hundreds of time at their kitchen table, I had Eric run down the stairs with a beadpost about to chuck people when someone broke into my car, I shared probably hundreds of article's of clothing with Lisa, heard thousands of toddler footsteps on the floor above me,exchanged a million notes with Lisa, attended at least 50 Simmons family dance parties, watched Eric buy at LEAST 3 Jeeps, watched all of my hair products slowly diminish thanks not to Lisa, but Eric, found a trillion little toys in my room, shared every peice of jewelry and purse that I owned with Daisy and Rylie, but nothing can compare to every kiss and hug hello and goodnight from 3 of the best kids that I know. I didn't realize how much I missed them until we were there the other night and I was saying goodnight to each of them as they were tucked into bed. I was about to go downstairs after saying goodnight to all the kids, when Rylie was calling for me. I went into her room and to her crib and she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me right on the lips! What precious little children, what a precious family, and what precious memories. I count the Simmons family some of my dearest friends in the world, and I am SOOO grateful that they allowed me to share so many years with them. I am so glad that now Bobby and I get to continue our friendship with them and raise our children alongside them.
