A Wonderful Weekend

What a wonderful weekend we had this past weekend! It seriously felt like we were on vacation without going away! Johnny (bobby's brother) flew in Thursday night, and then Bobby's Mom, Dad, and wife Janet came here as well. Friday night was a great night of celebrating both boys birthdays (bobby's this sat. and johnny's in june) all together.
Bobby had police car napkins, and Johnny had superman napkins, because since he was a kid, he has always been known as the superman :)

Then on Saturday we all went to the new Marine History Museum down in Quantico, VA. My parents and brother were able to join us and Bobby's grandmothers, it was a big crowd, and we had so much fun! The museum is amazing! Man Marine's are amazing. My love and respect grew for the Marine's when I first met Johnny but spending the day learning about the history, I had so much respect and pride in our US Marine's and what the do for our country. They are all hero's. Here are some of the great shot's I got from the day...

The outside of the museum

Right inside the museum

The museum store which was really cool and I got a few things! :)

Great quotes and pictures all over the wall

Then we decided to have some fun! Mom-Mom got to stand inside of this vault with a Seargent screaming at her like she was in boot camp! :)

Bobby and Johnny were checking out the bag that they all carry on their backs, man I could hardly lift that thing much less carry it on my back!

After lunch we stopped by a plane to take a picture
A picture with Bobby's Dad and stepmom Janet, I think I told my dad to take the picture before everyone was ready! Oops! :)

And finally one of my and my hubby. :) One of the best things about the museum, and I couldn't take a picture of it, was the actual flag that was raised at Iwo Jima. It was copletely in glass along the wall and I was incredibly overwhelmed as I stood there and just soaked in all of it's meaning. That flag that I was just feet away from staring at, had so much heroism, history, and incredible meaning for our country wrapped up in that one flag. I was speechless!! You guys should really go there and see it. It's truly amazing.

Well....one great weekend wrapped up. We had to say goodbye to Johnny yesterday yet again which was really sad. He will be gone for 7 months this time, but thankfully on a boat! :) We have another wonderful weekend to look forward to coming up. Bobby's mom will be down again, we celebrate Bobby's birthday Saturday, and then Sunday is easter with the Zaal's and Robison's! I will take lots of pictures then too!!

Have a great week everyone!

I haven't had a chance to visit that museum yet, but next time I'm in Maryland, I really want to go. My grandpap's name is on one of the brick's in the walkway for the soldiers. I'm glad I saw your pics - it looks like a beautiful museum! Miss ya girl!
