Well a few weeks ago Bobby and I got a very memorable and humbling experiance. One of Johnny's men (and friend) was injured in Iraq and was at the Naval Medical Hospital for rehab. We were able to go down there one day and visit with him and his mom. He was in great spirits and seemed to be healing well. It was just such a priviledge to talk to him about what he was doing over there and to just show our support. We also met his roomate who unfortunately lost his best friend the same day that he was injured. We were just so humbled and grateful talking with them so we told them that we would visit them again a few days later. Bobby thought it would be a good idea if we took them a steak dinner from Outback Steakhouse and I can honestly say that I have never seen 2 guys get more excited about a steak from Outback!! I mean, I know men love their steaks, but they were just sooooooo grateful for that meal. It made us feel so good that we were able to do just a small thing to bless them for all that our men do for our country, all the sacrifices, all the holidays missed, and just for putting their lives on the line just to protect us from the evil of this world. It hurts my heart that so many Americans do not show the support and the appreciation towards our brothers and sisters in the military. They all are HERO'S and should be treated like it!
This brings me to my other hero after Bobby. Johnny is coming home soon!!!! We just bought our plane tickets to go out to California and are just so eager to go out with family and friends and see him come home. We sure can't wait to see him in person!
Well to close this entry out, I wanted to give you all an image of Bobby's old faithful truck. Yes, it was totalled, and yes, we had to say goodbye forever. My husband took it really well even though you have no idea how much Bobby loved his truck. I pray one day he can get an even bigger and better one!
Thank you for protecting my husband for so many years and on the day of his accident. Thank you for all the memories of when Bobby and I were dating and would just sit in you and talk for hours. Thank you for your warming seats when I was always so cold in the winter. Thank you for all the road trips you took us on. Thank you for carrying all of our junk in your bed all of the time. Thank you for welcoming Roxy and always letting her sit in your back seat and sleep. But most importantly, thank you for being such a great truck for my Bobby and for making him so happy. He will get another truck someday, but we will always remember you. You will be missed. RIP dear truck.
